2009 Topps Box Break Result

I don’t own a video camera so I can’t film a live box break but I’m pretty sure everyone know what the Topps cards look like so I wanted to give a recap of what I got. After opening this box I have to say this is one of the better boxes I have opened (my girlfriend picked it out she has the luck in the relationship).

Base Set
288 out of 330 No doubles but I did get a Jeff Francoeur card that was damaged. I do have some double no because of the packs I bought earlier. Check out my Have/Want list to see if I have any double you need.

Inserts
Topps Town
31 – Regular card, I know have a set and a few double. 4 - Gold Johan Santana, Hanley Ramirez, Jake Peavey and Ryan Howard. Does anyone even care about these cards?

Turkey Red - Josh Johnson, Shane Victorino, Conor Jackson, Brain McCann, George Sisler, Jimmie Foxx, Fukudome, Kevin Kouzmanoff, Joe Mauer

Legends of the Game - Cy Young, Carl Yastrzemski, Roberto Clemente, Lou Gehrig, George Sisler and Mantle

Ring of Honor – Clemens, Pettitte, Pujols, Gary Carter, Luis Gonzo, Jim Leyland (why do they have managers in this set)

Gold Bordered # to 2009 - Brain Bixler, Denard Span, Conor Jackson, Emmanuel Burriss, Jerry Manuel and Edgard Gonzalez

Black Bordered # to 58 Zach duke (Who?? Yeah he plays for the Pirates)

My one relic card was a Career Best of Ryan Braun which is that great but it could have been a lot worse. I have happy with that plus it has a nice stripe in the middle of the patch. I also got a World Baseball Classic redemption cards. At first I was pretty happy about that but then I read the odd on the back of the pack and it said they are 1:36. So that means one per box. Not as great as originally thought. I have also heard Topps isn’t that great when it comes to redemptions so I wouldn’t be surpised it I never get it. According to Topps the estimated arrival date is September 12, 2009. (I am taking bets over or under 45 days after that date before I actually get the card) My best pull of the box was a Silk Collection of Mariano Rivera Numbered 5 out of 50. I think these are one of the best inserts offered in the hobby so I was pretty excited when I actually pulled one myself and it was of a good player which for mw is even a bigger surprise.
Overall I am pretty happy with the box and I am glad I got it. I am a little short of a full set I am open for some trades to help finish the set.

  1. That's the first silk card I've seen from '09 Topps. And you're right, it's a decent player. It's not Jack Wilson or someone like that. Nice work.
